Read the Waterbury Republican-American article about WHS Team MAX!

This past weekend the Wolcott Robotics Team, Team MAX, competed in Massachusetts at the North Shore District event.  After many hard fought matches in the playoffs, the team won the competition and were the Champions of this event.  All of the team members did an amazing job on and off the field.

As of right now the team is ranked 6th out of 200 teams in New England.  We already qualified to compete at the New England Championship because of our success at our first competition.  After this (2nd) competition the team qualifies to compete at the World Championship.

Wolcott Robotics wins the Chairman's Award

This weekend, the WHS Robotics team competed at the Waterbury District event with 41 other teams.  At this event the team was awarded the top award possible, the Chairman’s Award.  This award recognizes the Wolcott Robotics Team as the best team in all aspects of the program:

  • Community Service
  • Team Work
  • Robot Design
  • STEM initiatives

Even though this is the first week of competition, the Wolcott Robotics team has already qualified for the New England Championships in April.  Because the entire team evaluated, they all deserve credit for the victory, but special congratulations to our student leaders:

  • Kyler Vensel
  • Andrew Page
  • Alex Herren
  • Nick Gizzi

The team will be competing next in Redding Massachusetts in two weeks but they have already qualified for the New England Championship in April.
